ABOUT
US
Our Purpose
Our great purpose is to praise God for who He is and for what He has done, bringing Him glory (Ephesians 1:6, 12). God is ultimately glorified when we trust Christ and seek to develop a deep relationship with Him. As believers, we should become more like Christ, manifest the Character of God—His love, grace, mercy, power, goodness, sovereignty, and holiness—in our lives, showing the world who He is. (John 13:35; Colossians 1:28). In pursuit of this goal, we will intensely pursue these major objectives:
Exalting the Lord
In everything that we do, we will seek to exalt and honor the Lord (1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 3:17).
Equipping the Saints
God designed the church to fulfill many purposes. One of the most important is “equipping the saints [believers] for the work of the ministry” (Ephesians 4:12). Because God has gifted each one of us in specific ways, we are called to use these gifts to minister to the body of Christ, in our communities, and throughout the world (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12:4-28). We hope that every believer will ultimately grow to function as both a minister and an ambassador of Christ (Acts 1:8).
Evangelizing
We will always reach out to those who do not know Jesus Christ with His message of love and grace; fulfilling one of the most important commands He has given to us (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Colossians 4:3-6).
Encouraging Each Other
The body of Christ functions not only to love god, but to love and care for one another’s needs (Acts 2). God set us in the church as a way of meeting these needs. We are commanded to exist in loving relationship, both within the church and outside.
Our Hope for You
So often in our culture we ask questions like, “What can this church do for me?” “What can I get out of this church?” or “Am I happy here?” rather than asking, “Can I find truth here?” “Will I come to know God better here?” “Will I be able to build healthy relationships with these people here?” and “What can I give, how can I serve?”
We want Beth Rapha Church Int’l to be a place where honoring God and building relationships with Him and with one another are the highest priorities for everyone here. We hope you will join us in walking with Him in genuine, honest fellowship through the ministry of the indwelling Spirit of God. Know that you are welcome and accepted—just as you are. We can’t wait to walk together through this journey of faith.
God the Father
We acknowledge God, the Creator, as our heavenly Father, who is infinitely perfect and intimately acquainted with all our ways (Psalm 103:19; Matthew 28:19; and 1 Peter 1:2.).
Jesus Christ
We claim Jesus Christ as our Lord—the very God who came in human flesh—as the object of our worship and the subject of our praise. Through His saving work on the cross, we can be forgiven for our sins and receive eternal life (John 1:1–3, 14; 3:16–17; Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 1:1–3; 1 John 5:11–12).
The Holy Spirit
We recognize the Holy Spirit as the third member of the Godhead, always at work convicting, convincing, and comforting. He bestows one or more spiritual gifts upon each believer, and provides believers with the power to witness, live right, and perform works of service and ministry. (John 14:26; Acts 1:5, 8; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20; Ephesians 1:13–14).
Man’s Sinfulness
We confess that Adam and Eve’s fall into sin left humanity marked by sin and separated from God, without the hope of heaven apart from God’s free gift of salvation by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ (Genesis 3; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10–18, 23; 5:12).
Salvation
We believe that God’s offer of salvation is His love-gift to His creation. Those who accept it through faith, apart from works, become new creatures in Christ (John 3:16; Romans 10:9–10; Ephesians 1:4–12; 2:8–9; 1 Corinthians 15:1–5).
The Return of Christ
We anticipate our Lord’s promised return, which could occur at any moment (1 Thessalonians 4:13–5:11; 2 Thessalonians 2:1–12; Hebrews 9:28; Revelation 19:11–16).
The Resurrection
We are convinced that all who have died will be brought back from beyond—believers into everlasting relationship with God and unbelievers to everlasting separation from God (John 11:23–27; 1 Corinthians 15:51–57; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Revelation 20:4–21:5).
The Body of Christ
We know the Lord is continuing to enlarge His family, the body of Christ, throughout the world (Romans 12:4–5; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; Ephesians 4:11–16; 1 Peter 2:9–10).
The Family of God
We are grateful to be a local church which exists to proclaim God’s truth, to stimulate the growth of Christians toward maturity, and to bring glory to God (Acts 2:41–47; Hebrews 10:24–25; Philippians 2:1–4).
